The ISCAR 5568176 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill in the FCP series, designed for high-productivity drilling in demanding metal-cutting applications. The tip features a 0.850-inch cutting diameter with a 140-degree included drill point angle and a thinned web point geometry that reduces thrust and improves chip control at entry. The TiAlN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and edge hardness suited to dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. With a functional length of 0.311 inches and an overall height of 0.339 inches (8.61 mm), this tip mounts to compatible FCP-series drill bodies via a twist-lock insert seat. It is installed by machining professionals and toolroom technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This replaceable tip is intended for drilling primary workpiece materials including steel and cast iron (ISO material codes P and K). Secondary workpiece materials include stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO codes M, S, and H). The IC908 grade is a submicron carbide substrate manufactured to ISO 13399 standards, making it well suited for interrupted cuts and abrasive workpiece materials where edge toughness and wear resistance are both required. Typical applications include through-hole and flat-bottom drilling operations on machining centers and CNC lathes with live tooling.
Designed for use with compatible ISCAR FCP-series drill bodies accepting insert seat size 21 (ISO Number FCP 216). Confirm body and seat size before ordering. No coolant-through capability on this tip configuration.
Replaceable carbide drill tips of this type are seated and removed by machining technicians using the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key for the twist-lock retention mechanism. Always disengage the machine spindle and confirm zero-energy state before changing tips. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new tip, as contamination in the pocket will affect runout and tip life. Follow the tool body manufacturer torque guidelines for tip retention screws.
