The ISCAR 5568152 is a carbide replaceable tip drill insert in the FCP series, designed for high-productivity hole-making in demanding machining environments. It features a solid carbide construction with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, a 0.717-inch cutting diameter, and a 140-degree drill point angle with a thinned web for reduced thrust force at entry. The IC908 grade uses submicron carbide substrate, targeting consistent tool life in ferrous and hard-material applications. At 0.271 inches high and 0.243 inches functional length, this insert seats into compatible FCP-series drill bodies using a twist-lock holding method. Installation and use require no coolant-through setup.
This replaceable tip drill insert is suited for CNC turning centers and machining centers performing drilling operations on steel, cast iron, stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. The slow-spiral, flat-bottom geometry supports stable entry and exit in both through-hole and blind-hole configurations. The two-flute spiral design promotes chip evacuation in the primary workpiece materials. It is appropriate for production machining shops, toolrooms, and contract manufacturers running ISO P, K, M, S, and H material groups.
Designed as a replaceable tip insert for FCP-series drill bodies with insert seat size 18, ISO number FCP 182. Compatible drill bodies must accept the FCP 182 tip interface. Verify body compatibility before ordering.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom personnel using the twist-lock seating method specified for FCP-series bodies. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before replacing the tip insert. Inspect the insert seat in the drill body for damage or chip buildup before seating the new tip. Do not exceed the recommended cutting parameters published by ISCAR for the IC908 grade and the specific workpiece material.
