The ISCAR 5567999 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill in the HCP-IQ series, designed for high-performance drilling in steel and cast iron applications. The tip carries an IC908 submicron carbide grade with a TiAlN PVD coating, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability under demanding cutting conditions. It measures 17.6mm (0.693 inches) in cutting diameter with a tip height of 9.9mm (0.39 inches). The 135-degree self-centering drill point and web-thinned geometry reduce entry force and improve hole accuracy. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production environments are the primary installers of this tooling.
This replaceable tip drill is suited for machining operations targeting steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO K) as primary workpiece materials. Secondary workpiece material compatibility includes stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO M, S, H). The slow spiral, two-flute design and self-centering point make it appropriate for deep-hole drilling setups where precision entry and chip evacuation are critical. It fits insert seat size 17 and follows the HCP-IQ toolholder system. The ISO number for this tip is HCP 176-IQ. Conformance to ISO 13399 ensures compatibility with standardized tool data management systems.
Designed for use with HCP-IQ series toolholders at insert seat size 17. ISO number HCP 176-IQ. Primary workpiece materials are steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO K). Secondary workpiece materials include stainless steel (ISO M), superalloys and titanium (ISO S), and hard materials (ISO H).
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician on CNC machining centers or drill presses. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the replaceable tip. The twist-lock holding method requires clean, undamaged seating surfaces on both the tip and the toolholder for proper clamping and runout control. Do not use damaged or worn tips, as loss of seating integrity directly affects hole quality and can damage the toolholder.
