The ISCAR 5567986 is a replaceable drill tip from the HCP-IQ series, designed for indexable drilling systems that accept interchangeable carbide inserts. This tip features a 0.6380-inch (16.00 mm) cutting diameter, a 137-degree included point angle, and a self-centering point geometry. It is manufactured from solid carbide using a submicron grain grade and coated with TiAlN via a PVD process for elevated heat and wear resistance. Seat size 16 and ISO number HCP 162-IQ apply. Intended for installation by machinists and tooling technicians in CNC turning, milling, or dedicated drilling setups requiring repeatable, accurate hole entry without a pilot operation.
This drill tip is suited for hole-making, chamfering, and drilling operations across a range of workpiece materials. Primary workpiece materials are steel and cast iron (ISO material codes P and K). Secondary workpiece materials include stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes M, S, and H). The helical flute geometry and web-thinned design support chip evacuation in both short-hole and production drilling applications. It is a direct component for indexable drill bodies that accept HCP-IQ seat-size-16 insert pockets.
Designed for indexable drill bodies that accept HCP-IQ series replaceable tips at insert seat size 16, conforming to ISO number HCP 162-IQ. Compatible with primary workpiece materials steel and cast iron, and secondary workpiece materials stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as stated in the manufacturer specifications.
This replaceable tip is installed and removed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician using the appropriate clamp-style insert holding method specified for the HCP-IQ drill body. Ensure the drill body and machine spindle are fully de-energized and spindle rotation is locked before tip exchange. Inspect the insert pocket seat for debris, damage, or wear before seating the new tip. Do not exceed the recommended clamping procedure for the matching drill body to avoid seat damage.
