The ISCAR 5567971 is a carbide replaceable tip drill designed for precision drilling in ferrous materials. Part of the HCP-IQ series, it carries the IC908 submicron carbide grade and a PVD-applied TiAlN finish that supports cutting performance across a range of demanding workpiece materials. The drill features a 0.563 inch cutting diameter, a 137-degree self-centering drill point angle, and a slow spiral, two-flute geometry. The replaceable tip design reduces tooling cost by allowing tip exchange without discarding the drill body. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and tool room technicians are the primary installers of this insert-style drill.
This replaceable tip drill is intended for drilling operations in steel and cast iron as primary workpiece materials, classified under ISO material codes P and K. Secondary workpiece suitability extends to stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials, corresponding to ISO codes M, S, and H. The HCP-IQ series and IC908 grade combination is well suited to production environments where consistent hole quality and tool life in interrupted or continuous cuts are priorities. The self-centering point type eliminates the need for a pilot hole in most setups, supporting efficient cycle times on machining centers and CNC drill presses.
This tip is designed for use with compatible HCP-IQ series drill bodies accepting insert seat size 14. Specific body compatibility should be verified against ISCAR HCP-IQ series documentation before ordering.
Replaceable tip drills of this type are installed and serviced by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Before tip replacement, the machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool locked in a vise or tool holder per shop safety procedures. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to seat the tip securely in the body; do not over-torque or substitute non-rated fastening tools. Confirm runout after tip installation using a dial indicator before returning the tool to production use.
