The ISCAR 5567963 is a carbide replaceable tip drill in the HCP-IQ series, designed for precision hole-making in ferrous and hard materials. The cutting tip is manufactured from submicron-grade solid carbide with an IC908 manufacturer grade and a TiAlN PVD coating for wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The drill features a 0.524-inch cutting diameter, a self-centering 134-degree drill point, a slow spiral flute configuration, and a web-thinned geometry that reduces thrust load at entry. A licensed HVAC, plumbing, or electrical contractor is not the intended installer — this tool is used by machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators in metalworking environments.
The 5567963 is suited for drilling steel and cast iron as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. The P and K ISO material group classifications confirm its fit for production and job-shop drilling applications where consistent hole quality and tip interchangeability are required. The replaceable tip design allows the carbide cutting head to be swapped without removing the drill body from the spindle, reducing changeover time in high-volume operations.
Designed for use with HCP-IQ series drill bodies accepting Insert Seat Size 13 replaceable tip holders. ISO number HCP 133-IQ. Compatible workpiece materials include steel and cast iron (ISO P and K material groups) as primary applications, and stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO M, S, and H groups) as secondary applications.
Installation of replaceable carbide tip drills should be performed by qualified machinists following the spindle manufacturer's toolholder torque and runout specifications. Ensure the drill body and tip seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before engaging the tip. Do not exceed the recommended speed and feed parameters published by ISCAR for the IC908 grade and the specific workpiece material being drilled. Coolant-through is not supported on this configuration; external coolant or MQL should be directed at the cutting zone when machining heat-sensitive alloys.
