Product Description

The ISCAR 5567859 is a DNMG331-F3M turning insert in grade IC6015, designed for finishing operations on stainless steel and other ISO M-group workpiece materials. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide and carries a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, which delivers high wear resistance while maintaining sufficient toughness for demanding cuts. The 55-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape provides a sharp, stable cutting geometry suited to light finishing passes. Insert length is 11.63 mm (0.4579 inches), inscribed circle diameter is 3/8 inches, and corner radius is 1/64 inch. It belongs to the ISCAR Isoturn series.

This insert is intended for CNC turning centers and conventional lathes where the primary workpiece material is stainless steel. The F3M chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing cuts, producing controlled chip flow at light depths of cut up to 1.50 mm (0.0591 inches). Typical applications include external and internal turning of austenitic and duplex stainless components in industrial and precision machining environments. The negative side clearance (N) combined with a positive rake makes the insert suitable for use with clamp or pin-style toolholders accepting DNMG geometry.

Key Features

  • IC6015 carbide grade with CVD TiCN / Al2O3 / TiN multilayer coating for high wear resistance on stainless steel
  • F3M chip breaker optimized for finishing operations with controlled chip evacuation
  • 55-degree diamond insert shape (DNMG) with negative side clearance and positive rake
  • Corner radius of 1/64 inch (0.0157 inches) for fine surface finish on finish-turning passes
  • Maximum depth of cut 1.50 mm (0.0591 inches) suitable for light finishing work
  • Conforms to ISO 13399 standard for cutting tool data representation

Compatibility

Designed for use in DNMG-style toolholders that accept clamp or pin insert-holding methods with a negative clearance (N) and tolerance code M. Compatible with toolholder systems accepting ANSI insert code DNMG331 or ISO insert code DNMG110404. Verify toolholder pocket geometry and insert seat dimensions before installation.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tool-setting technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the pocket walls before tightening the clamp or pin to avoid micro-movement during cutting. Inspect the insert seat and shim for wear or debris that could affect seating accuracy and surface finish results.
