The ISCAR 5567833 is a WNMG431-F3M IC6015 grade carbide turning insert designed for precision finishing operations on stainless steel and other difficult-to-machine materials. It carries a CVD-applied TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN multilayer coating that provides high wear resistance while maintaining toughness during moderate cutting conditions. The insert features an 80-degree trigon (W) shape with a negative side clearance and a 0.40 mm corner radius, making it well suited for tight-tolerance finishing passes. It belongs to ISCAR's Isoturn series and conforms to ISO 13399 standards. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert as part of routine tooling changeouts on production turning centers.
This insert is intended for finishing operations on stainless steel workpieces, classified under ISO material group M. The F3M chip breaker geometry controls chip flow during light-to-moderate depth-of-cut passes, reducing the risk of chip entanglement on long-chipping alloys. The insert is right-hand oriented and fits standard WNMG-style toolholders used on CNC lathes and turning centers in both job-shop and production environments. Maximum depth of cut is 1.50 mm (0.059 inches), placing it firmly in the finishing range.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling insert for WNMG-style turning toolholders with a 1/2-inch (12.70 mm) inscribed circle seat. Compatible with ANSI size code 431 and ISO size code 080404 toolholder pockets.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine fully stopped, the spindle locked, and all guards in place. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the insert — do not overtighten by feel alone. Inspect the toolholder pocket and clamping components for wear or debris before seating the new insert. Follow your facility's tooling change procedures and applicable shop safety standards.
