The ISCAR 5567827 is a solid carbide turning insert in the WNMG331-F3M geometry, designed for precision lathe turning operations on stainless steel and other ISO M-class workpiece materials. This double-ended insert carries the IC6015 manufacturer grade and features a multilayer CVD coating stack of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, which provides wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The F3M chip breaker geometry is optimized for controlled chip formation during finishing and semi-finishing passes. The insert measures 6.52 mm (0.2567 inches) in length with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 1/64-inch (0.0157-inch) corner radius. It belongs to ISCAR's Isoturn series and conforms to ISO 13399 standards.
This insert is suited for external and internal turning operations on stainless steel in both CNC and conventional lathe setups. The 80-degree trigon (W-shape) geometry and N-clearance (0-degree relief angle) make it appropriate for general turning where rigid tool holding and stable depth of cut control are priorities. Maximum recommended depth of cut is 1.50 mm (0.0591 inches). The F3M chip breaker performs well in light-to-medium finishing cuts where clean surface finish and chip evacuation matter. It is installed by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals in production and job shop environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement turning insert for WNMG-style insert pockets that accept a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, 3/16-inch thick, double-ended trigon insert with clamp and pin holding method. Manufacturer catalog reference number is WNMG 060404-F3M.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not overtighten or use substitute fasteners, as improper seating causes premature edge failure. Inspect the insert pocket and locating pin for debris or wear before seating the new insert.
