The ISCAR 5567705 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill insert from the ICP series, designed to seat into compatible modular drill bodies for high-productivity hole-making operations. It features a 1.125-inch (28.58 mm) cutting diameter, a 140-degree included angle with a thinned point geometry, and a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process. The IC908 submicron carbide grade delivers edge retention and wear resistance in demanding machining environments. The honed cutting edge and slow spiral flute design promote stable chip evacuation and consistent surface finish. This insert is intended for use by machinists and tooling specialists in production or job-shop settings.
This replaceable tip is engineered primarily for drilling steel and is also rated for stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H. The ICP series modular format allows tip replacement without removing the drill body from the tool holder, reducing downtime on CNC machining centers and turning centers. Insert seat size is 28, corresponding to the ICP 2858 ISO number. Applications are limited to drilling operations.
Designed for use with ICP series modular drill bodies accepting an insert seat size of 28, per ISO number ICP 2858. Specific compatible drill body part numbers were not provided in the product data; verify seat size and series designation against the drill body specification before ordering.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the drill body and machine spindle are fully stopped and locked out before removing or seating the tip insert. Use the correct torx or hex key as specified by the drill body manufacturer to achieve proper clamping torque — do not overtighten or substitute fasteners. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating the new tip to ensure full contact and accurate runout.
