The ISCAR 5567598 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DNMG431-VL geometry, grade IC806, designed for high-performance metal cutting in CNC turning applications. It features an AlTiN coating applied via PVD process under ISCARs SumoTec proprietary coating treatment, delivering high wear resistance with moderate toughness. The insert has a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a 0.4 mm corner radius, a 15.5 mm insert length, and a 12.7 mm inscribed circle. It is a right-hand, negative side clearance insert with an M tolerance code. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert for roughing and medium machining operations on superalloys and special materials.
This insert belongs to ISCARs Isoturn series and is engineered primarily for turning superalloys and special alloy workpieces coded under primary workpiece material code S. Its IC806 grade is rated for high wear resistance to moderate wear resistance and toughness, making it well suited for demanding aerospace, energy, and industrial component machining. Maximum depth of cut is 3.5 mm. It is sold individually and is compatible with toolholders designed for DNMG-style negative-rake inserts.
Designed for use in DNMG-style negative-rake turning toolholders. ANSI insert code DNMG431 and ISO insert code DNMG150404 apply. Confirm toolholder seat geometry and clamping style before installation. No specific toolholder model numbers were provided in the product data.
This insert is installed and indexed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamping screw per the toolholder manufacturers specification — do not overtighten the clamping screw with an improvised tool. Inspect the insert seat and clamp for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and prevent premature edge failure.
