Product Description

The ISCAR 5567505 is a TNMG432-M3P grade IC8250 coated carbide turning insert designed for external turning operations on steel and stainless steel workpieces. The insert features a multilayer MTCVD-applied coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, which provides a hardwearing surface suited to both roughing and medium machining passes. Geometry is right-hand, negative side clearance, with a positive rake and a 60-degree triangular shape. The M3P chip breaker geometry manages chip control across a range of feed rates and depths. At 22 millimeters in length with a 0.8 millimeter corner radius and a 12.7 millimeter inscribed circle, this insert seats into standard TNMG-style toolholders used throughout production turning environments.

The IC8250 grade is engineered for steel (P) applications requiring high wear resistance to high toughness, and for stainless steel (M) applications requiring high wear resistance to moderate wear resistance and toughness. Typical installations include CNC turning centers and manual lathes running continuous or interrupted cuts in carbon steel, alloy steel, and austenitic stainless steel. The M3P chip breaker handles roughing and medium machining, making this insert a practical choice for material removal passes where chip evacuation and insert life are both priorities. Maximum rated depth of cut is 6.60 millimeters.

Key Features

  • IC8250 grade with MTCVD-applied TiCN, Al2O3, TiN multilayer coating for extended tool life
  • M3P chip breaker geometry rated for roughing and medium machining operations
  • 60-degree triangle (T) insert shape with negative side clearance and positive rake
  • 0.8 millimeter corner radius for a balance between edge strength and surface finish
  • Compatible with P (steel) and M (stainless steel) primary workpiece material groups per ISO designation
  • Conforms to ISO 13399 tooling data standards

Compatibility

Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard TNMG432 (ISO: TNMG 220408) style toolholders accepting negative-rake triangular inserts with a 0.5 inch inscribed circle. ANSI insert code TNMG432; ISO insert code TNMG220408. Part of the ISCAR Isoturn series.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician on a powered-down or E-stopped CNC lathe or turning center before resuming operation. Secure the insert in a TNMG-compatible toolholder using the appropriate clamping screw and torque driver per the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the insert. Index to a fresh cutting edge or replace the insert when flank wear, chipping, or surface finish degradation is observed.
