The ISCAR 5567471 is a CNMG432-M3P indexable carbide turning insert designed for general-purpose and finishing turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured from solid carbide with an IC807 grade and a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN multilayer coating under ISCARs SumoTec proprietary process, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of workpiece materials. It features an 80-degree diamond shape, a 0.8 mm corner radius, and an inscribed circle of 12.70 mm (0.500 inches). The M3P chip breaker geometry promotes positive rake cutting action and chip control during medium to moderate interrupted cuts. Licensed HVAC techs installs it as part of the Isoturn series lineup.
The 5567471 is suited for turning operations on materials classified under ISO workpiece groups H, K, M, P, and S, covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, carbon and alloy steels, and heat-resistant superalloys. It is applied in both roughing and semi-finishing passes where reliable chip breaking and consistent tool life are required. The positive rake geometry reduces cutting forces, making it appropriate for slender workpiece setups or lower-rigidity machine configurations. It is used in production shops, job shops, and maintenance machining environments.

Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician following the toolholder manufacturers torque and clamping specifications. Ensure the toolholder pocket and locating surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Index or replace the insert at first signs of flank wear, chipping, or surface finish degradation to avoid workpiece damage. Follow applicable machine shop safety procedures and lock out the spindle before changing inserts.
