The ISCAR 5567352 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill designed for high-performance hole-making in ferrous and hard workpiece materials. Built on the HCP-IQ platform, this tip carries an IC908 submicron carbide grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, giving it wear resistance and thermal stability under demanding cutting conditions. The drill tip measures 0.728 inches in cutting diameter and 0.413 inches in height, with a self-centering 137-degree point geometry and a slow spiral, two-flute configuration. Installation is quick via a twist-lock holding method, making tip changes efficient at the machine. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and toolroom technicians are the primary users of this component.
The 5567352 tip is suited for drilling operations in steel and cast iron as its primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. The self-centering point and web-thinned geometry reduce entry thrust and improve hole accuracy without a center-drill pre-op. This makes it well-suited for production environments where cycle time and hole quality are both priorities. The part conforms to ISO 13399 tooling data standards, which simplifies integration into CAM and tool management systems.
Designed as a replaceable tip for HCP-IQ series drill bodies using insert seat size 18. The ISO number for this tip is HCP 185-IQ. Compatible drill bodies must accept the twist-lock HCP-IQ tip interface at the corresponding seat size.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Before changing the tip, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped, locked out, and the tool is removed from the spindle or secured in a tool holder that prevents rotation. Use the appropriate ISCAR torque key for the twist-lock seat — do not use improvised tools that could damage the seating surface or tip shank. Inspect the insert pocket and seating bore for chips or debris before seating the new tip, as contamination affects runout and can lead to premature tip failure.
