The ISCAR 5567335 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill in the HCP-IQ series, designed for high-productivity drilling in ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. The tip measures 0.394 inches (10.01 mm) in cutting diameter and features a 134-degree self-centering point geometry with a slow spiral, two-flute design. A TiAlN PVD coating provides heat and wear resistance during aggressive drilling cycles. The tip seats into a compatible HCP-IQ drill body and is held in place by a twist-lock mechanism. This replaceable tip format reduces tooling cost by allowing tip exchange without replacing the shank body. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this insert.
This tip drill is suited for drilling operations in steel, cast iron, stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. The ISO material codes covered are P, K, M, S, and H, making it a broad-application tool for job shops and production machining environments. The self-centering point eliminates the need for a pilot hole in most setups, and the web-thinned geometry reduces thrust force at entry. Typical applications include through-hole and blind-hole drilling on CNC machining centers and lathes with live tooling.

Installation and removal of replaceable tip drills should be performed with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Use the manufacturer-specified torque key or wrench for the twist-lock seat to ensure proper seating and runout control. Inspect the drill body seat for chips or damage before installing a new tip, as debris on the seating face will affect concentricity and tip life. This tool type is typically set up and changed by a machinist or CNC operator following shop tooling procedures.
