The ISCAR 5567026 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill insert designed for precision hole-making in demanding metal-cutting applications. Part of the ICP-2M series, this insert features a 0.24-inch cutting diameter with a 140-degree drill point angle and a TiAlN PVD coating that extends tool life when cutting ferrous and hard materials. The double-margin geometry and slow spiral flute design improve stability and surface finish in the cut. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this tip into compatible ICP-2M toolholders as a cost-effective alternative to replacing an entire drill assembly. The insert conforms to ISO 13399 tooling data standards.
This replaceable tip drill insert is suited for drilling operations in steel as its primary workpiece material. Secondary applications include stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering a broad range of production machining scenarios. The ICP-2M series is commonly found in CNC machining centers and turning centers where repeatable drill tip replacement without full-body tool changeout is required. The IC908 grade submicron carbide substrate adds toughness in interrupted cuts and variable-feed entry conditions.
Designed for use with ICP-2M series compatible toolholders. ISO number ICP 061-2M identifies the seat and interface geometry. Verify insert seat size 6 and ICP-2M holder compatibility before ordering.
Installation of replaceable tip drill inserts should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and seating procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing any insert. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or damage before seating the new tip. Do not force the insert into the pocket; proper twist engagement should produce a secure, low-runout fit without excessive force.
