The ISCAR 5566750 is a VNMG332-M3M geometry turning insert in grade IC806, designed for precision turning of superalloys and titanium. It is manufactured from submicron solid carbide and coated with TiAlN via a PVD process using ISCARs proprietary SumoTec coating technology. The insert features a 35-degree diamond shape (V), a positive rake geometry, and an M3M chip breaker optimized for chip control in difficult-to-machine materials. With an inscribed circle of 0.375 inches, an insert length of 0.654 inches (16.61 mm), and a corner radius of 0.031 inches (1/32 inch), this insert is built for stable, repeatable performance in demanding turning applications. It is installed by machinists and CNC turning specialists on indexable toolholders.
This insert is suited for turning centers and CNC lathes where superalloys such as Inconel, Hastelloy, and similar S-grade materials, as well as titanium alloys, are the primary workpiece materials. The M3M chip breaker geometry provides controlled cutting action at moderate depths of cut up to 0.138 inches (3.51 mm), making it applicable to both finishing and semi-finishing passes in aerospace, medical, and energy sector component machining. It is a double-ended insert, allowing two usable cutting edges per insert body.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit insert for indexable turning toolholders accepting VNMG 332 geometry inserts with clamp and pin holding. Conforms to ISO 13399 standards.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and manufacturer-specified seating procedure for the toolholder clamp and pin system to ensure proper insert contact. Inspect the insert pocket and locating surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert edge.
