The ISCAR 5566713 is an ICM-series replaceable carbide tip drill insert designed for precision hole-making in demanding materials. Manufactured to the IC908 grade using a submicron solid carbide substrate with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, this insert delivers heat resistance and edge retention at the cutting zone. The drill tip measures 0.252 inches in cutting diameter with a 140-degree included angle and features a web-thinned, T-Land geometry with a slow spiral flute configuration. It is sized for ICM insert seat size 6 and conforms to ISO 13399 standards. This insert is built for drilling stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium as its primary workpiece materials, with secondary suitability for steel, cast iron, and hard materials. The ICM series is used in modular replaceable-tip drill body systems where only the cutting tip is changed, reducing tooling cost while maintaining consistent hole quality. It is suited for CNC machining centers and turning centers in job shop and production environments handling ISO material groups M, S, P, K, and H.
Designed as a replaceable tip insert for ICM-series modular drill bodies using insert seat size 6, ISO number ICM 064. Compatible with primary workpiece materials coded M, S (stainless steel, superalloys, titanium) and secondary materials coded P, K, H (steel, cast iron, hard materials).
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with modular replaceable-tip drill systems. The machine spindle must be stopped and the tool de-energized before tip removal or seating. Use the manufacturer-specified torque wrench and insert key for the twist-lock interface to ensure proper seating without over-torque. Inspect the drill body seat for wear or debris before installing a new tip to maintain runout and hole quality specifications.
