The ISCAR 5540029 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert designed for precision external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Carrying the ISO designation CCGT 2-.004-AS, this insert features an 80-degree diamond shape (C-shape), a 0.004-inch corner radius, and a 1/4-inch (0.250-inch) inscribed circle diameter. The IC20 uncoated carbide grade is engineered for positive-rake cutting, making it well suited for finishing passes where sharp edge geometry and surface finish quality are the priority. Installation is performed by licensed machinists and CNC operators using standard screw-clamp toolholders.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and alignment.
