The ISCAR 5530106 is a solid carbide helical boring bar designed for internal turning and bore finishing operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. It cuts right-hand and carries a TiAlN finish coating over a grade IC908 carbide substrate, making it well-suited for hard and difficult-to-machine materials at elevated cutting temperatures. The bar has a 6 mm shank diameter and a 34 mm overall length. Minimum bore diameter is 0.1575 inches (4.00 mm) and maximum bore depth is 0.4724 inches (12.00 mm). A 0.2 mm corner radius supports finishing passes with controlled surface geometry. Installation and setup are performed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians.
This boring bar is suited for small-diameter internal boring applications in precision machining environments, including job shops, production machining cells, and toolrooms. The compact 6 mm shank fits tool holders and boring bar sleeves designed for that shank size. Its helical geometry helps manage chip evacuation in confined bore conditions. Typical applications include bore finishing on ferrous alloys, stainless steel, hardened steels, and heat-resistant superalloys where IC908 grade carbide performs consistently under interrupted or continuous cut conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide helical boring bar for use in tool holders and boring bar sleeves accepting a 6 mm shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or changing the boring bar. Secure the shank firmly in the tool holder to the manufacturer-specified clamping torque for the holder in use. Verify bore depth and diameter settings with a test cut before committing to finish dimensions.
