The ISCAR 5520052 is a TCC-style shim designed for indexable turning toolholders. It seats between the toolholder pocket and the cutting insert, providing a stable, repeatable seating surface that protects the pocket from wear and absorbs cutting forces during turning operations. Compatible with diamond-shaped inserts and CTGP R/L toolholder styles, this shim supports both left-hand and right-hand cutting directions. It is sized for inserts with a 1/2 inch (0.5000 inch) inscribed circle, equivalent to 12.70 mm. Machinists and CNC turning specialists install this part as a routine maintenance or setup component when replacing worn pocket liners or configuring new tooling assemblies.
This shim fits CTGP R/L series indexable turning toolholders and is confirmed compatible with SCLCL 2525M-12 and SCLCR 2525M-12 complete toolholders. It is suited for general turning applications in production and job-shop environments where diamond inserts are used on lathes and turning centers. The TCC series designation identifies the shim geometry and ensures correct fit within the matching toolholder pocket. Both left-hand and right-hand toolholder configurations are supported by a single shim part number, reducing inventory complexity for shops running mirror-image setups.
Compatible with CTGP R/L series indexable turning toolholders, including SCLCL 2525M-12 and SCLCR 2525M-12 complete toolholders. Designed for use with diamond-shaped inserts in left-hand and right-hand turning configurations.
This shim is installed by a machinist or tooling technician during toolholder setup or insert change intervals. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before accessing the toolholder pocket. Ensure the shim seats fully and flush in the pocket before torquing the clamping screw to the toolholder specification. Inspect the shim for deformation or cracking at each insert change and replace if wear is visible.
