The ISCAR 5509961 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill from the FCP series, designed for high-performance hole-making in metal cutting applications. The tip carries the IC908 manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, providing heat and wear resistance during interrupted or continuous cuts. The drill features a 0.512-inch cutting diameter, a 140-degree included point angle, a thinned web point for improved chip flow, and a slow spiral flute geometry suited for flat-bottom drilling operations. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments and weighs approximately 0.046 pounds.
This replaceable tip drill is intended for drilling operations in steel and cast iron as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. The FCP series uses an ISO 13399-compliant insert seat size 13 and a twist-style insert holding method, making it compatible with FCP-series drill bodies. It suits through-hole and blind-hole drilling where a flat-bottom profile is required, commonly found in mold and die, automotive, and general machining environments.
Designed as a replaceable tip for FCP-series drill bodies using insert seat size 13. Primary workpiece materials are steel (ISO material code P) and cast iron (K). Secondary workpiece materials include stainless steel (M), super-alloys and titanium (S), and hard materials (H).
Installation and replacement of carbide drill tips should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state. Use the manufacturer-specified torque driver and seating procedure for the FCP twist-style interface to avoid tip damage or improper seating. Inspect the insert seat and bore for chips or debris before installing the tip. Do not run the tool if the tip is visibly chipped, incorrectly seated, or if runout exceeds the tolerance specified for the drill body.
