The ISCAR 5509087 is a carbide replaceable tip drill in the ICP series, designed for precision drilling in steel and a range of other demanding workpiece materials. The tip insert carries the IC908 manufacturer grade, a submicron solid carbide grade applied with a PVD TiAlN coating for high heat resistance and extended edge life. The drill features a 0.791-inch cutting diameter, a 140-degree included angle with a thinned point, and a slow spiral flute geometry. Two spiral flutes with a honed cutting edge profile support controlled chip evacuation during deep-cycle drilling operations. The functional length is 0.337 inches and overall height is 0.457 inches.
This replaceable tip drill is suited for production drilling in steel as its primary workpiece material. Secondary workpiece materials include stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering a broad range of shop and machining center applications. The ICP series design is commonly used in CNC machining environments where repeatable hole quality and consistent tool life are required. The insert seat size is 20, and the ISO number is ICP 201, conforming to ISO 13399 tooling standards. Typical users include machinists and tooling specialists working in job shops, aerospace, and general manufacturing.
Designed for use with ICP series insert seat size 20 drill bodies. ISO number ICP 201. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO material code P); secondary materials are stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), super-alloys and titanium (S), and hard materials (H).
Installation of replaceable tip inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer torque and seating guidelines for the ICP series. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing or inspecting the insert tip. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating the new tip to prevent runout. Verify cutting parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material before initiating the drilling cycle.
