The ISCAR 5508607 is a carbide replaceable tip drill in the ICP series, designed for high-productivity hole-making in metalworking applications. The drill tip is manufactured from submicron solid carbide in the IC908 grade and features a PVD-applied TiAlN coating that extends edge life when cutting ferrous and exotic materials. At 0.772 inches cutting diameter with a 140-degree included angle and a slow spiral, honed-edge geometry, the 5508607 delivers clean entry and controlled chip flow. Functional length is 0.315 inches. Replacement tips seat via a twist-lock method, allowing fast tip changes without removing the drill body from the spindle. Licensed machinists, CNC programmers, and toolroom techs are the primary users.
This drill tip is suited to drilling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. The ICP series is a common choice for production-volume drilling on CNC machining centers and lathes where consistent hole diameter and positional accuracy are required. The 140-degree point angle reduces thrust force on entry and is particularly effective on interrupted cuts and cross-holes. Insert seat size 19 and ISO number ICP 196 identify the compatible body and holder. The honed cutting edge style paired with IC908 PVD TiAlN coating makes the tip well matched to ISO P and M workpiece material groups as defined in ISO 13399.

Installation and tip changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine in a safe, de-energized state and spindle locked. Seat the replaceable tip using the specified twist-lock method and verify secure engagement before running the spindle. Inspect the insert seat for chips or wear before mounting a new tip, as a contaminated seat can cause runout and premature tip failure. Follow the machine tool builder and tooling manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed selection based on workpiece material and hole depth.
