The ISCAR 5508434 is a carbide replaceable tip drill in the ICM series, designed for high-productivity hole-making in demanding materials. The tip carries an IC908 submicron carbide grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, delivering hardness and heat resistance needed when cutting stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The 140-degree included angle with a thinned web point reduces thrust and improves centering at entry. A slow spiral, two-flute geometry with T-Land style edge prep rounds out the cutting geometry. The tip measures 0.571 inches in cutting diameter and 0.321 inches in height, with a functional cutting length of 0.234 inches. Installation and tip changes are handled by licensed machinists or tooling technicians in CNC and manual drilling operations.
This replaceable tip drill is suited for precision drilling operations in ISO material groups M (stainless steel and superalloys), S (titanium and superalloys), P (steel), K (cast iron), and H (hard materials). Typical applications include production drilling on CNC machining centers and drill presses where consistent hole quality and fast tip replacement without full tool changeout are priorities. The ICM series platform is intended for shops running tight-tolerance through-hole and blind-hole work across aerospace, energy, and general metalworking applications. Insert seat size 14, ISO number ICM 145.
Designed for use with ISCAR ICM series drill bodies accepting insert seat size 14, ISO number ICM 145. Compatible workpiece materials include stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, steel, cast iron, and hard materials per ISO material group codes M, S, P, K, and H.
Tip installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist following ISCAR ICM series assembly procedures. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the replaceable tip. Use the correct torx or clamping key specified for the ICM body to achieve proper seating torque - do not substitute tools. Verify tip seating and runout before resuming production cuts.
