The ISCAR 5508370 is a replaceable carbide drill tip designed for use with ISCAR ICP-series modular drill bodies. The tip features a 0.4058-inch (13/32) cutting diameter, a 140-degree included point angle, and a PVD-applied TiAlN coating over a solid submicron carbide substrate. It carries ISCAR grade IC908 and fits insert seat size 10. The standard 140-degree point geometry and web-thinned design help reduce entry force and promote chip evacuation in production drilling applications. This tip is suited for CNC machining centers and production turning centers where replaceable-tip tooling systems reduce downtime versus brazed or integral carbide drills.
The 5508370 is rated primarily for steel (ISO material group P) and is also applicable to stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO groups M, K, S, H). Typical applications include through-hole and blind-hole drilling, chamfering, and gundrilling operations in job shop and production environments. The helical flute geometry with regular spiral supports consistent chip flow across these material groups. This tip is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians working with ISCAR ICP modular drill systems.
Designed for use with ISCAR ICP-series modular drill bodies requiring insert seat size 10, ISO number ICP 103. Confirm seat size and series compatibility with the drill body before ordering.
Replaceable drill tips of this type are installed by machinists or toolroom technicians; machine spindle must be fully de-energized and locked out before tip replacement. Use the correct ISCAR torx or clamp key for the seat size — do not use substitute drivers, as improper clamping force will damage the seat or tip. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping surfaces for chips or wear before seating the new tip. Follow ISCAR tooling assembly documentation for the specific drill body in use.
