The ISCAR 5508369 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill insert from the ICP series, designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metal-cutting applications. The tip features a 0.402 inch (10.21 mm) cutting diameter with a 140-degree included angle and a web-thinned point geometry that reduces entry forces and improves chip evacuation. A TiAlN coating applied via PVD process provides thermal resistance and wear protection during high-speed cutting. The honed cutting edge and slow spiral flute design contribute to stable performance in steel and other challenging workpiece materials. This insert is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC drilling operations.
The 5508369 tip is intended for use in ICP series drill bodies with an insert seat size of 10. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO material group P). Secondary workpiece compatibility includes stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO groups M, K, S, and H). It is suited for production drilling on CNC machining centers and lathes where replaceable-tip tooling systems are preferred over solid brazed drills. The part conforms to ISO 13399 tooling data standards.
Designed for use in ICP series replaceable-tip drill bodies with insert seat size 10. ISO number reference is ICP 102. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials per ISO material group classifications P, M, K, S, and H.
This replaceable tip is installed and removed by machinists using the twist-lock mechanism of the ICP drill body — no adhesives or press-fit tools are required. Ensure the drill body bore and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the tip. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tips on any live toolholder. Follow the drill body manufacturer torque and engagement guidelines for the ICP seat interface.
