The ISCAR 5508337 is a replaceable solid carbide drill tip designed for use with ISCAR ICP-series modular drilling systems. Measuring 0.3780 inches (10.00 mm) in cutting diameter, this tip features a 140-degree point angle with a standard point type and helical fluting. The IC908 grade substrate is a submicron carbide coated via PVD with TiAlN, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding hole-making applications. The tip seats into an insert seat size 9 holder using a clamp holding method. It is installed and replaced by machinists and tooling technicians working in production or job-shop environments.
This tip is suited for drilling and chamfering operations primarily in steel, with secondary capability in stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It carries ISO material codes P (primary), M, K, S, and H (secondary). The helical, web-thinned flute geometry in a regular spiral configuration supports chip evacuation in through-hole and blind-hole drilling. The ICP series is designed for productive hole making across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials where a replaceable-tip solution reduces tooling downtime.
Designed as a replaceable tip for ISCAR ICP-series modular drill bodies using insert seat size 9, ISO number ICP 096. Compatible with primary workpiece material steel (ISO P) and secondary materials stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO M, K, S, H).
Installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine fully stopped and the spindle locked out. Ensure the insert seat is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the tip, as contamination can affect runout and tip retention. Use the appropriate ISCAR ICP clamping tool to secure the tip to the specified clamp engagement; do not overtighten with improvised tools. Verify cutting diameter and projection with a presetter before returning the tool to service.
