The ISCAR 5508275 is a DNMG432TF turning insert in grade IC807, designed for precision external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured from solid carbide with a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability across demanding cutting conditions. The 55-degree diamond shape provides a strong, versatile cutting geometry with a positive rake angle and a 0-degree relief angle (clearance code N). The inscribed circle measures 0.5 inches and the corner radius is 1/32 inch (0.0315 inch), making it suitable for moderate finishing and semi-finishing passes. Licensed HVAC and machining professionals installing this in high-production environments will find the IC807 grade well-matched to a range of workpiece materials.
This insert is part of the ISCAR Isoturn series and is engineered for use on workpiece materials classified under ISO material groups M (stainless steel), P (steel), and S (heat-resistant superalloys and titanium). Its TF chip breaker geometry manages chip flow effectively in medium to light depths of cut, up to a maximum of 3.50 mm (0.138 inch). The DNMG style insert is held by clamp and pin, fitting standard DNMG-compatible toolholders used in both general turning and profiling applications on CNC turning equipment.
Designed for use with DNMG-style toolholders compatible with insert size code 432. Rated for ISO workpiece material groups M, P, and S, covering stainless steels, carbon and alloy steels, and heat-resistant superalloys.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tool crib technicians on CNC turning equipment. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket and tighten the clamp or pin per the toolholder manufacturer's torque sequence to ensure proper constraint. Inspect the insert seat and chip groove for debris before each installation to prevent seating errors that can damage the insert or workpiece.
