The ISCAR 5508259 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill insert in the ICP series, designed for high-performance drilling in metalworking and machining applications. Identified by the product designation ICP0760, this insert is manufactured to IC908 grade using a submicron carbide substrate and features a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) TiAlN coating for heat and wear resistance. The cutting diameter is 0.760 inches, the included point angle is 140 degrees, and the insert height is 0.433 inches (11 mm). The honed cutting edge geometry and web-thinned point reduce entry force and improve chip evacuation during through-hole and blind-hole drilling operations. It is manufactured to ISO 13399 standards.
This insert is intended for drilling operations in steel as its primary workpiece material, with secondary suitability for stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. The slow spiral flute geometry and twist holding method make it compatible with ICP-series replaceable tip drill bodies using an insert seat size of 19. It is suited for CNC machining centers and turning centers running production drilling in job shop, aerospace, oil and gas, and general metalworking environments. This is a direct replacement or consumable tip insert; the drill body is sold separately.
Designed for use with ISCAR ICP-series replaceable tip drill bodies accepting an insert seat size of 19. ISO number reference is ICP 193. Compatible drill bodies are sold separately. Confirm body compatibility by matching the ISO number and seat size before ordering.
Installation and replacement of carbide tip inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state. Use the appropriate ISCAR torque key or clamping tool specified for the ICP body to seat the insert; do not use substitute tools that may damage the seating interface. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for debris or damage before installing a new tip. Follow the cutting parameter recommendations provided in the ISCAR ICP series tooling guide for the specific workpiece material being machined.
