The ISCAR 5507916 is a CNMX-style solid carbide turning insert designed for high-productivity external turning operations. Carrying the IC8350 manufacturer grade, this insert features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN that delivers wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The 80-degree diamond shape (Insert Shape Code C) provides a strong nose geometry suitable for general turning and profiling. It includes a wiper edge for improved surface finish at standard feed rates. With a positive rake and M4PW chip breaker geometry, it is engineered to control chip flow across a range of material removal conditions. Machinists and CNC turning operators working in job shop or production environments are the primary users.

This insert is intended for turning stainless steel and steel workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes M and P. Installation Notes

This insert is installed and replaced by a machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Before changing inserts, power down and lock out the machine spindle per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Inspect the pocket seating surface and shim for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper location and avoid premature edge failure.
