The ISCAR 5507867 is a WNMG-style solid carbide turning insert in the Isoturn series, coated with TiAlN via a PVD process and graded IC807. The insert features an 80-degree trigon shape with a positive rake geometry and a clearance code of N, making it suited for efficient chip evacuation during turning operations. The inscribed circle measures 3/8 inches (0.375 inches), insert length is 6.52 mm (0.2567 inches), and the insert thickness is 5/32 inches (0.156 inches). The TF chip breaker designation and 1/32-inch corner radius (0.0315 inches) support controlled chip flow across a range of turning conditions. Licensed machinists and CNC lathe operators install this insert using a clamp and pin holding method.
This insert is designed for turning applications on a range of workpiece materials, including stainless steel (M), carbon and alloy steels (P), and superalloys (S). It fits production turning environments where consistent chip control and wear resistance at the cutting edge are required. The IC807 grade with TiAlN coating performs across general-purpose turning setups on CNC lathes and turning centers. The maximum depth of cut is 3.00 mm (0.118 inches). It conforms to ISO 13399 standards, making it compatible with tool management software and digital tooling catalogs used in modern machine shops.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard WNMG-format turning insert for use with toolholders that accept WNMG inserts with a clamp and pin holding method. Suitable for primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S per ISO classification.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing the insert. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket and secure using the clamp and pin as specified by the toolholder manufacturer. Inspect the insert seat and clamp for wear or debris before installation to ensure proper edge contact and prevent premature failure.
