The ISCAR 5507693 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CNMG543NR geometry, manufactured under the IC8250 grade with a multilayer PVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN. It belongs to the Isoturn series and is designed for use in CNC and manual turning operations on metal workpieces. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape with a neutral rake (0-degree relief angle, clearance code N) and a 3/64-inch corner radius. At 15.90 mm (0.626 inches) in length with a 5/8-inch inscribed circle, it fits standard CNMG-style toolholders. The NR chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation across a range of depths of cut up to 7.00 mm (0.2756 inches).
This insert is intended for turning applications on steel and stainless steel workpieces, corresponding to ISO material group codes P and M. It is suited for medium to finishing passes on external and internal turning operations in production machining environments. The IC8250 PVD-coated grade provides wear resistance and edge toughness appropriate for interrupted cuts and varying feed conditions.
