The ISCAR 5507606 is a solid carbide turning insert in the WNMG3-0NF geometry, part of the Isoturn series. It carries an IC9350 manufacturer grade and features a CVD-applied dual coating of TiCN and Al2O3, providing thermal resistance and wear protection for demanding cutting operations. The insert has a trigon (80-degree) shape with a 0.375 inch inscribed circle, an insert length of 0.257 inches (6.53 mm), a thickness of 0.156 inches, and a 0.008 inch corner radius. It is designed for use by machinists and CNC turning specialists in production and job-shop environments.

This insert is intended for turning and boring applications on stainless steel and carbon or alloy steel workpieces. Its NF chip breaker geometry and positive rake angle support controlled chip flow and reduced cutting forces, making it well suited for both roughing passes within its depth-of-cut range and finishing operations. The clamp-and-pin holding method provides secure seating in compatible WNMG-style toolholders. Maximum depth of cut is 0.059 inches (1.50 mm).

Compatibility

Installation Notes

Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the insert. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut rating for the insert geometry.
