The ISCAR 5507599 is a VNMG432TF solid carbide turning insert in the Isoturn series, grade IC9250, designed for precision single-point turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, which provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. The 35-degree diamond shape (V) with a 0-degree relief angle (clearance code N) and a positive rake geometry makes this insert well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes. The 0.0315-inch corner radius and a 0.5-inch inscribed circle define the cutting geometry for consistent chip control via the TF chip breaker.
This insert is used primarily in turning stainless steel and carbon or alloy steel workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes M and P. It is appropriate for both residential machine shops and industrial production environments where tight tolerances and consistent surface finish are required. The IC9250 grade is a CVD-coated carbide formulation rated for material grades C5, C6, and C7, making it suitable for medium to high cutting speed applications. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install these inserts as part of routine tooling changes on tool holders designed for VNMG-style inserts with clamp and pin holding methods.
Designed for use in VNMG-style tool holders that accept clamp and pin holding methods. Fits holders within the Isoturn series. Suitable for turning stainless steel and steel workpieces classified under ISO material codes M and P.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the tool holder pocket and verify clamp and pin engagement before resuming cuts. Do not exceed the recommended maximum depth of cut of 0.1378 inches (3.50 mm) as specified for this insert geometry.
