The ISCAR 5507313 is a DNMG431TF IC9250 grade solid carbide turning insert designed for precision external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN applied over a carbide substrate graded IC9250, providing wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of cutting conditions. The insert measures 15.50 mm (0.6102 inches) in length with a 1/2-inch inscribed circle, a 3/16-inch thickness, and a 1/64-inch corner radius. A 55-degree diamond shape (D style) and positive rake geometry support controlled chip formation. The TF chip breaker geometry is engineered to manage chip evacuation in continuous and light interrupted cutting passes.
This insert is suited for turning stainless steel and carbon and alloy steels, corresponding to ISO material groups M and P. It fits into the Isoturn series toolholding system and is appropriate for use in production environments where consistent tool life and surface finish repeatability are priorities. Typical applications include shaft turning, facing, and contouring on medium to finish cuts with a maximum depth of cut of 3.00 mm (0.1180 inches). Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in job shop, aerospace, and general manufacturing settings are the primary users of this insert.
Designed for use in ISCAR Isoturn series toolholders that accept DNMG style inserts with a clamp or pin holding method. Compatible with ISO material grades C5, C6, and C7. Conforms to ISO 13399 standards for cutting tool data representation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is locked before seating or removing the insert. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping procedure for DNMG inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installation to avoid insert rocking and premature edge failure.
