The ISCAR 5506693 is a replaceable drill tip designed for modular drilling systems operating in the ICM series platform. Manufactured from solid carbide with a submicron material grade and applied with a PVD TiAlN coating, this insert delivers consistent cutting performance in demanding applications. The tip measures 0.4290 inches (10.90 mm) in cutting diameter and features a 140-degree included angle with a standard point type and regular helical flute geometry. It is intended for installation by machinists and toolroom technicians working on production or job-shop drilling operations where insert changeability reduces downtime.
This drill tip is suited for hole-making and drilling applications where the primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It also performs in secondary applications involving steel, cast iron, and hard materials. The ICM series platform is commonly found in CNC machining centers and turning centers handling precision bore work. The M insert geometry and web-thinned tip design help manage chip formation and entry forces when working in difficult-to-machine alloys. The ISO 13399 standard data format is supported for tool assembly and CAM integration workflows.
Designed for use in ISCAR ICM series modular drill bodies with an insert seat size of 10. Confirmed ISO number ICM 109. Consult ISCAR tooling documentation to verify correct holder pairing before installation.
Installation and replacement of modular drill tips should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians with the machine in a safe, de-energized state and the spindle fully stopped. Use the correct ISCAR clamping key or torque tool specified for ICM seat size 10 inserts. Ensure the insert seat is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the tip, as contamination will affect runout and surface finish. Follow the tool manufacturer's assembly procedure for clamp-style inserts to avoid tip fracture or holder damage.
