The ISCAR 5506645 is a replaceable drill tip designed for indexable drilling systems requiring consistent, repeatable hole quality in metalworking applications. Manufactured from solid carbide with a submicron material grade and coated via PVD with TiAlN, this tip provides thermal resistance and edge hardness suited to demanding cutting conditions. The cutting diameter is 0.7830 inches (20.00 mm), the drill point angle is 140 degrees, and the tip carries manufacturer grade IC908. It mounts using a clamp-style insert holding method and fits insert seat size 19. With two helical flutes and a web-thinned geometry, it promotes chip evacuation and reduces entry thrust forces. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians working in production or job-shop environments are the primary installers.
This replaceable drill tip is used in hole-making, chamfering, and drilling operations across a range of metalworking settings. The ICP series tip is engineered primarily for steel workpieces and is also rated for secondary materials including stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The ISO number for this tip is ICP 199, and it conforms to ISO 13399 tooling data standards. It is appropriate for both manual and CNC-driven indexable drill bodies that accept the ICP style insert seat size 19.
Designed for use with ICP-series indexable drill bodies accepting insert seat size 19. Rated for primary workpiece material steel (ISO P) and secondary materials stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), superalloys and titanium (S), and hard materials (H). Suitable for hole-making, chamfering, and gundrilling applications where an ICP 199 tip geometry is specified.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians following the drill body manufacturer's clamping torque and seat-cleaning procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the tip. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before installation to ensure full tip contact and accurate runout. Coolant-through is not supported by this tip; verify coolant delivery method matches the drill body configuration before use.
