The ISCAR 5506635 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill insert designed for high-performance hole making in demanding machining environments. Part of the ICP series, this insert features a 140-degree drill point angle and a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) PVD coating that extends tool life when cutting ferrous and exotic materials. The insert geometry is designated P-style with a helical flute configuration and web-thinned tip for improved chip evacuation. It measures 11.00mm in cutting diameter with a flute length of 5.00mm and an overall height of 6.00mm. At 0.035 pounds, it is a lightweight, precision-ground component intended for use in compatible ICP-series drill bodies.
This replaceable tip is suited for CNC machining centers and drilling operations where quick insert changes reduce downtime. Primary workpiece material is steel, with secondary suitability for stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Typical applications include through-hole and blind-hole drilling, chamfering, and gundrilling operations in production or job-shop environments. The insert is held in place via clamp-style seating on an Insert Seat Size 10 drill body. This insert conforms to ISO 13399 standards for cutting tool data representation.
Designed for use with ISCAR ICP-series replaceable tip drill bodies accepting an Insert Seat Size 10 and ISO Number ICP 105. Compatible primary workpiece material is steel (ISO material code P); secondary compatible materials include stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), superalloys and titanium (S), and hard materials (H).
Installation of replaceable tip drill inserts is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the insert. Use the manufacturer-specified clamping method to secure the insert fully before running the tool. Inspect the insert seat and clamping surfaces for debris or damage prior to each installation to maintain runout accuracy.
