The ISCAR 3602098 is a right-hand DDJN-style indexable turning toolholder from the Isoturn series, designed for external turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It features a 0.75 inch by 0.75 inch square shank and a negative rake angle of -6 degrees, which provides stronger cutting edge support and longer insert life in demanding materials. The 93-degree lead angle suits straight turning and facing passes. The clamp-style insert holding method secures DN..43. series inserts and accommodates a wide range of DNMG, DNGA, DNMA, DNMX, and related insert geometries. Licensed machinists and CNC setup technicians are the primary installers of this toolholder.
This toolholder is suited for production turning applications in both job shop and high-volume manufacturing environments. It mounts to lathes accepting a 0.75 inch square shank tool post or block, making it a common choice for light to medium roughing and finishing passes. Compatible insert geometries span ceramic, CBN, and carbide grades, giving the operator flexibility across workpiece materials ranging from steel and cast iron to hardened alloys. The 93-degree lead angle limits axial cutting forces and reduces vibration on slender workpieces.
Accepts the following insert families: DNGA-Ceramic, DNGA-MC/M4 (CBN), DNGA-R2/M2 (CBN), DNGG-M4HF/M4HM (CBN), DNMA, DNMA (CBN), DNMG-GN, DNMG-M3M, DNMG-NF, DNMG-NR, DNMG-PF, DNMG-VL, DNMG-WG, DNMG/DNGG-PP, DNMG/DNGG-SF, DNMG/DNGG-TF, DNMM-NM, DNMS-12, and DNMX-HT. Compatible insert size code is DNMG432-GN. Coolant-through is not supported on this holder.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Before mounting or changing inserts, power down the machine and confirm the spindle is fully stopped. Secure the shank in a qualified tool block or turret station that accepts 0.75 inch square shank holders, and torque the clamping screws to the machine or tooling manufacturer's specification using calibrated tooling. Follow your facility's lockout/tagout procedures throughout the process.
