The ISCAR 3401266 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 3/8 inch diameter cutting edge with a 1-1/4 inch length of cut and a 3/4 inch shank diameter, yielding a 3 inch overall length. The four-flute, right-hand spiral geometry combined with a 38-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A TiAlCN coating improves wear resistance and thermal stability during high-speed cutting. The submicron carbide grade provides the hardness and toughness needed for demanding milling operations. Single-end construction and center-cutting capability allow plunge entry and peripheral milling from a single tool. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this end mill.
This end mill is suited for ferrous and non-ferrous machining on vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers as well as manual knee mills. The extended-reach design and 1-1/4 inch reach length allow access to deeper pockets and shoulder features without tool-holder interference. Variable index flute spacing reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts. It is appropriate for production environments where consistent surface finish and dimensional accuracy are required across medium to high hardness workpiece materials.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement end mill for CNC and manual milling machines accepting a 3/4 inch straight shank toolholder. Verify spindle taper, collet size, and holder bore before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Ensure the shank is fully seated to the correct insertion depth specified by the toolholder manufacturer and that set screws or collet nuts are torqued per the toolholder documentation. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or damage before each use; a damaged tool can cause workpiece defects or tool breakage under load.
