The ISCAR 3401206 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding material applications. Designed for both roughing and finishing operations, this tool features a 5/8-inch (0.6250 inch) mill diameter, a 0.09-inch corner radius, and four flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration with a variable index geometry that improves chatter resistance. The AlTiCrSiN PVD coating provides thermal and wear resistance when cutting hard and abrasive workpiece materials. It is part of the ISCAR ECI-4-VF series and is installed by machinists and tooling technicians on CNC machining centers using compatible toolholders with Weldon flat shank mounting.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials in both shop and production environments. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry and full-profile corner radius cuts. The extended reach configuration, with a 4-inch reach length and 1-inch length of cut, makes it appropriate for deeper pocket work and step-milling applications where standard-reach tools cannot access the feature geometry. It mounts to standard Weldon flat toolholders.
Designed for use with standard Weldon flat toolholders accepting a 5/8-inch shank diameter. Compatible with CNC machining centers running right-hand cutting operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Manufacturers catalog number ECI-4 625-1.0/4.0W09VF6.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the Weldon flat shank firmly in the toolholder to the appropriate clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer specification before spindle operation. Verify runout with a dial indicator after tool mounting and before cutting to protect both the tool and the workpiece. Do not exceed the rated cutting parameters for the workpiece material class being machined.
