The ISCAR 3401199 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill from the ECI-4-VF series, engineered for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. The cutter measures 0.5 inches in diameter with a 1.5-inch length of cut, a 0.09-inch corner radius, and a 4-inch overall length. A physical vapor deposition (PVD) AlTiCrSiN coating provides heat and wear resistance at elevated cutting speeds. Four flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration with variable index geometry reduce chatter and improve surface finish on both roughing and finishing passes.
This end mill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The medium-length flute profile and extended reach design make it appropriate for pocketing, profiling, and slotting operations where tool rigidity and chip evacuation are both critical. It mounts in a standard toolholder with a 0.5-inch Weldon flat shank held to an h6 shank diameter tolerance. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry. The single-end design is intended for use until the cutting edge is spent, then replacement.

A licensed machinist or CNC setup technician should verify toolholder runout and clamping torque per toolholder manufacturer specifications before operation. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill. Confirm the Weldon flat is properly aligned with the setscrew in the toolholder to prevent axial pull-out. Review cutting parameter recommendations for the specific workpiece material, as feeds and speeds for superalloys and hardened steels differ significantly from mild steel.
