The ISCAR 3401163 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding material removal in ferrous and difficult-to-machine workpiece materials. Part of the ECI-4-VF series, it features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 1.25 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge. The four-flute, right-hand spiral configuration supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. An AlTiCrSiN PVD coating provides thermal and wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures, making this end mill well-suited for high-productivity applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines where a Weldon flat shank toolholder is used. Its extended reach geometry, variable index, and center-cutting capability make it a practical choice for profiling, contouring, slotting, and pocketing in production environments. Typical users include CNC machinists, tool and die shops, aerospace and medical component manufacturers, and job shops working with high-alloy or hardened workpiece materials. The 3 inch overall length and medium flute length classification suit it for general-purpose depth-of-cut requirements without excessive overhang.
Designed for use with Weldon flat shank toolholders accepting a 0.5 inch shank diameter. Compatible with CNC milling applications targeting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per material codes P, M, K, S, and H. Manufacturers catalog number ECI-4 500-1.25W06VF3.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or unloading the tool from the toolholder. Ensure the Weldon flat is properly aligned with the toolholder set screw before torquing. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating to confirm concentricity before beginning a cut.
