The ISCAR 3401089 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding material removal in ferrous and difficult-to-machine alloys. With a 3/4 inch diameter, a 0.015 inch corner radius, and four flutes arranged in a variable index geometry, this tool is built for both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. The AlTiCrSiN PVD coating provides heat and wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. The 38-degree helix angle and submicron carbide substrate work together to maintain edge integrity in high-hardness applications. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this tool in milling centers handling production work in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium.
This end mill fits directly into Weldon flat toolholders with a 3/4 inch shank diameter held to h6 tolerance. The medium-length flute design — 1-5/8 inches of reach length — suits peripheral milling, slotting, and profiling where extended reach is needed but deflection must be controlled. The ECI-4-VF series from ISCAR targets ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H, making it a versatile choice for shops running mixed-material workloads. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional CNC milling spindles.
Designed for use with standard Weldon flat toolholders accepting a 3/4 inch shank. ISCAR catalog reference ECI-4 750-1.62W015VF4. Suitable for ISO material groups P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), S (superalloys and titanium), and H (hard materials).
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom personnel. Before tool changes, confirm the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state per shop lockout procedures. Seat the Weldon flat securely against the toolholder set screw to prevent axial pullout under load. Verify runout with a test indicator after clamping before beginning any cut program.
