The ISCAR 3399296 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. It carries a 0.25 inch cutting diameter with a 0.015 inch corner radius, three flutes, and a right-hand spiral flute geometry in the ECAI-B3-EC series. The DLC (diamond-like carbon) PVD coating provides wear resistance suited to aluminum, copper, brass, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 0.75 inch reach and an extended-reach configuration, this tool handles both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops or production environments are the primary users.
This end mill is intended for non-ferrous metal cutting operations including aluminum alloys, copper, and brass. Its coarse pitch, three-flute design promotes chip evacuation in gummy materials. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, making it suitable for full-slot milling, pocket roughing, and contour finishing where a consistent corner radius blends wall-to-floor transitions. The straight cylindrical shank mounts directly into standard collet chucks or end mill holders. It is not rated for ferrous or hardened steel applications.
Designed for use with standard collet-style toolholders accepting a 0.25 inch straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material compatibility is non-ferrous metal (material code N). Manufacturer catalog reference: ECAI-B3 .25-.8CR015-2.5EC.
Installation is performed by machining professionals or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle lock is engaged before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder to the recommended insertion depth per the toolholder manufacturer. Verify runout with a dial indicator before the first cut, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and degrades surface finish on non-ferrous workpieces.
