The ISCAR 3399251 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for both roughing and finishing operations in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 0.75-inch cutting diameter, a 0.06-inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes with a 45-degree helix angle. The tool carries a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) PVD coating that reduces friction and extends tool life in aluminum and other non-ferrous workpiece materials. At 4 inches overall length with a 1.625-inch length of cut, it is classified as medium length with extended reach geometry. This end mill is centercutting and suitable for plunge, slot, and profile milling. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, aerospace, and general manufacturing environments.
This tool is designed for milling non-ferrous metals including aluminum alloys and similar materials. Its coarse pitch flute geometry combined with the DLC coating promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced built-up edge in these materials. The straight-cylindrical shank at 0.75 inches diameter fits standard end mill toolholders used on vertical machining centers and CNC milling machines. The single-end design and centercutting capability allow for both peripheral and plunge cutting operations in a variety of milling strategies.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders accepting a 0.75-inch straight-cylindrical shank. The manufacturer catalog reference for this tool is ECAI-B3 .75-1.6CR06-4EC within the ECAI-B3-EC series.
Install this end mill into a clean, properly sized toolholder collet or end mill holder and torque retention screws or nuts per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Ensure the spindle and machine are fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a three-flute geometry. Program feeds and speeds appropriate for non-ferrous materials and confirm coolant strategy matches the no-coolant-through design of this tool.
