The ISCAR 3399049 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 5/16 inch cutting diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes with a coarse pitch for efficient chip evacuation. The tool carries a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) PVD coating that reduces friction and extends tool life in aluminum and other non-ferrous materials. At 3 inches overall length with a 1 inch length of cut and extended reach configuration, this end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing passes. It is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC machining centers using a standard straight-cylindrical toolholder.
This end mill is intended for use on non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, and copper alloys. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as standard peripheral and slot milling. The single-end, 45-degree helix design and extended reach make it well suited for pocketing, contouring, and profiling operations where tool overhang is required. It accepts a standard straight-cylindrical toolholder with a 5/16 inch shank bore. This part belongs to the ISCAR ECAI-B3-EC series and carries the manufacturer catalog number ECAI-B3 .312-1CR03-3EC.
Designed for use with straight-cylindrical toolholders accepting a 5/16 inch shank. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal (material code N). Part of the ISCAR ECAI-B3-EC series; manufacturer catalog number ECAI-B3 .312-1CR03-3EC.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists using a compatible CNC toolholder; ensure the toolholder bore and collet are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate parameters are set for non-ferrous material and the specific depth of cut before engaging the workpiece. Do not exceed the rated length of cut of 1 inch; extended reach tools are more susceptible to deflection if overhang is increased beyond the design reach. Verify tool runout with a dial indicator after clamping to maintain dimensional accuracy in finish passes.
