The ISCAR 3399006 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal-cutting and machining applications. It features a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) mill diameter and a 1/4 inch length of cut, with a matching 3/16 inch shank diameter and a 2 inch overall length. The three-flute geometry, combined with a 45-degree helix angle and variable index spacing, reduces chatter and improves chip evacuation. A DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating adds surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in demanding cuts. The submicron carbide grade provides the edge retention and rigidity required for tight-tolerance work. This end mill is a single-end, center-cutting tool with right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction.
This end mill is suited for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter, high-precision slotting, profiling, or peripheral milling is required. The DLC coating makes it particularly effective in non-ferrous materials, composites, and graphite, where lubricity and edge sharpness are critical. The compact 2 inch overall length and short 1/4 inch length of cut make it well matched to close-clearance work and shallow-depth finishing passes. Machinists working in aerospace, medical device, and general precision manufacturing will find this geometry appropriate for fine-feature work.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/16 inch straight shank end mill.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. The shank should be secured in a collet or end mill holder rated for the shank diameter before spindle engagement. Verify runout with a dial indicator after tooling setup to protect edge integrity on fine-tolerance cuts. Follow shop-standard speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type; do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended depth-of-cut limits for this diameter.
