The ISCAR 3399004 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. The 3/8 inch cutting diameter is matched with a 3/4 inch length of cut and a 45-degree helix angle, producing efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces on the workpiece. The DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating adds surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in abrasive and high-speed cutting conditions. The submicron carbide grade substrate provides the toughness and edge retention required in production environments. Three flutes with a variable index configuration reduce harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts. This end mill is a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC and manual milling setups.
This end mill is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous materials in job shop, production machining, and tool room environments. The extended reach design, with a 1-1/4 inch reach length and 3 inch overall length, allows access to deeper pockets and stepped features without requiring a longer-reach extension holder. The 3/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders common to vertical machining centers and knee mills. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece material, supporting ramp milling and helical interpolation operations.
Fits standard 3/8 inch collet chucks and end mill holders used in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC milling platforms. Designed as a direct-replacement solid carbide square end mill for 3/8 inch shank tooling positions.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard toolroom procedures. Secure the shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware to the machine manufacturer specification before engaging the spindle. Inspect the collet bore and tool shank for chips or burrs before seating. Follow applicable shop safety protocols and machine guarding requirements during setup and operation.
